Overview

James Clark is a British Conservative Party political activist who has contested the seat of Islington North in the 2017 and 2019 General Elections against the then Leader of her Majesty’s Opposition Jeremy Corbyn. He is also the Ware Branch, Hertford and Stortford Conservative Association Deputy Chairman Membership and runs the Hertford and Stortford CPF. He is an active Vice President of the Lewisham Deptford Conservative Association and is the co-founder and Executive Director of Conservative Friends of the Armed Forces. James also mentors aspiring Conservative parliamentary candidates.

Prior to his appointment for GE2019, James unsuccessfully contested the hustings for the safe seat of Rutland and Melton. He ran for Lewisham Council in the 2018 local elections and in the 2017 General Election James ran against the leader of Her Majesty’s Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn also in Islington North. He fought in a local By-election in Evelyn ward in Lewisham in 2016. His experience of fighting in impenetrable Labour strongholds should stand him in good stead whatever future challenges lie ahead! He is also a school governor at the Simon Balle All-through School in Hertford and a member of the Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee for the Eastern Region.
