Overview

James Clark is a British Conservative Party political activist who has contested the seat of Islington North in the 2017 and 2019 General Elections against the then Leader of her Majesty’s Opposition Jeremy Corbyn.

He is also the Hertfordshire Area Chairman. He is an active Vice President of the Lewisham Deptford Conservative Association and is the co-founder and Executive Director of Conservative Friends of the Armed Forces. James also mentors aspiring Conservative parliamentary candidates.

He ran for town and district council in local election in May 2023. Prior to his candidacy for GE2019, James unsuccessfully contested the hustings for the safe seat of Rutland and Melton.

He ran for Lewisham Council in the 2018 local elections and was selected for Islington North in the 2017 General Election. Prior to this he fought in a local By-election in Evelyn ward in Lewisham in 2016 and was Association Chairman for Lewisham Deptford Conservative Association.

His experience of fighting in impenetrable Labour strongholds should stand him in good stead whatever future challenges lie ahead!

He was until recently a school governor at the Simon Balle All-through School in Hertford and continues to be a member of the Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee for the Eastern Region.
